Natalia Jonas had a distinguished collegiate basketball career. In 1998, she led San Jose City College to its first state championship for any women's sport in the school's history. In 1999, she was a member of the California State University at Northridge team that won its first Big Sky League title to advance to the NCAA Division I national tournament. At Holy Names University, she received All-American honors as the team won a California Pacific Conference championship in 2003. A Terra Nova graduate, the school retired her basketball jersey in 1997. At that time she held the school scoring record of 1,636 points and was a member of two Central Coast Section championships.
