Glenn Stenstrom was a two-time silver medalist collegiate wrestler at the state level and in 1976 won the silver medal at the Greco-Roman regional Olympic trials.
In 1966, while attending College of San Mateo, he was selected the team's most valuable wrestler on his way to earning All-American honors.
He graduated from San Francisco State University in 1969 where he obtained his teaching credential.
For six years he coached the Peninsula Grapplers, a youth wrestling program.
He has coached state, world and Olympic champions.

He coached at Skyline College and Foothill College.
As a middle school teacher at Ortega in the 1970s he developed a wrestling program for the students. Many of his student athletes went on to wrestle at Terra Nova High School and contributed to the great success of that program.
A former marathon runner, he continues competing to earn trophies in surfing and successfully competes in tennis. He has been surfing the Pacifica beaches for 60 years.
