Ginny Smithson was a teacher and coach at Alma Heights Christian School for 35 years.

Joining the school's elementary faculty staff in 1975, it didn't take long for her to develop a Physical Education curriculum for the students. In 1986 she helped start the new high school program for Alma Heights. In 1990 she became the school's athletic director.

She served in that role until her retirement in 2009. She coached boys' soccer for seven years and softball for 13 seasons. Coaching the two sports resulted in 157 wins and 28 losses with 13 first place teams.

She also taught tennis, swimming, fitness and biking for the Pacifica Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department.
