Dorene Basuino attended Terra Nova High School and quickly realized that she loved organized sports. Her skills in playing basketball, badminton and volleyball took her to the next level, playing volleyball at both Skyline College and San Francisco State University. She was a member of the 1983 Terra Nova champion volleyball team that competed in the California State finals. That team is the only Terra Nova sports team, boys or girls, to advance to a State finals tournament. She graduated from Terra Nova in 1984. At SFSU, she was on the 1987 Division II championship team and in 1988 was voted to the NCAC All-Conference team and received the Scholar Athlete Award both years. Following in the footsteps of her football coach dad (Bob Lotti), who was a teacher/coach at Terra Nova, she joined the coaching ranks. She coached basketball, volleyball and badminton at Terra Nova. Along the way, she obtained her teaching credentials which eventually landed her administrative positions at Terra Nova. In 2012, she was appointed Principal of Terra Nova. She lives in Pacifica. She joins her dad as a PSHOF member; he was inducted in 1992.
